Sacrament of Baptism
Baptism is the sacrament of faith, the sacrament from which we receive a new life in Christ Jesus. The Holy Spirit makes us new in and through the community. Through this sacrament we are initiated into God's Church."Baptism incorporates us into Christ and forms us into God's people. It pardons all our sins, rescues us from the power of darkness, and brings us to the dignity of adopted children, a new creation through water and the Holy Spirit." (The Rites, #1)
What do we require?
- We ask the parents to schedule a private interview with the priest. For more information, please see the Infant Baptism page and email Fr. Pineda
or call the parish office, 408/252-7653 ext. 28.
- Baptismal Preparation Classes are provided for the parents and godparents to help them with their awesome gift and responsibility to share the faith of Jesus Christ with the child God has so lovingly given to them. These classes are presented by parents, by the clergy of our parish. Parents and godparents are required to attend a baptismal preparation class, which is held in the evening in the rectory on the fourth Tuesday of the month. To sign up for one of our Baptism session schedules, please contact Joe Gibbs by email
or call him at 650/331-2179.
- After completing the Baptismal Preparation Class and all the requirements, the schedule of Baptism may be finalized.
